This afternoon I received an official looking envelope. "What's this?" I asked my husband as he brought it into the house. "Looks like you got your response from Jerry Brown" he said rolling his eyes anticipating that our streak of bad luck is continuing.- Sure enough the former, Governor Moonbeam did respond. My heart rate goes up slightly. I am thinking finally, here we go, someone who is listening.
Immediately after opening the official envelope, my hopes are dashed. It's your typical brush off, bureaucrat style:
"Dear Ms. Boyle, Thank you for your recent correspondence to Attorney General Edmund G. Brown, Jr.
We have reviewed your correspondence and determined that the following agency is in a much better position to render assistance to you in this matter. If you wish to pursue the matter further, we suggest you contact:
State Bar of California,""
blah, blah blah blah blah. WTF? From reviewing the Attorney General's own website, he sure talks a good game about going after fraudulent loan modification companies. Wouldn't the Parsa Group sort of fall into that same catagory?
So, let's review: I have reported this scam to 3 agencies and all 3 seem to be passing the buck.
1. Costa Mesa Police told me to report my case to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) as this is a "federal" issue.
2. The State Attorney General referred me back to the California State Bar as their agency is in a "better position to render assistance...."
3.The State Bar, thus far is a no-show. Plus, I really doubt they can offer any assistance. Afterall, they knew of Parsa's criminal case years before actually doing anything. If you review the calbar.org site, you will see this case involving Parsa is from September 1, 2000!!
check it here http://members.calbar.ca.gov/courtDocs/09-C-12545.pdf
The above does not include the "consumer" attorney I called yesterday. He does not seem to be returning my call. I should figure all the Liar-yers would stick together.
SO....NOW WHAT?
Not sure how much fight I have left in me.
