I do not know why I have any faith left but I do. There has to be justice. There has to be someone who will listen to me and all the other victims of the Parsa Law Group--somewhere? Anyone?
Several days ago, when it became obvious that I had been scammed, I immediately reported James Parsa to the State Bar of California. I faxed all my evidence to them. 9 days later, I have yet to receive even so much as an acknowledgement of receipt of my case. In the private sector, businesses are held to regulations that require they acknowledge correspondence in a matter of days. For example Insurance Companies are required to acknowledge receipt of your claim for damages within 48 hours--whether they actually do is another story but at least some regulations are applied to them and hopefully enforced.
I also reported Parsa to the State Attorney General, completing their form online, that was also 9 days ago. To date--NOTHING! I tried calling the office of the Attorney General but that proved to be a waste of time. It was the same voicemail hell you get when calling the DMV or the IRS.
I thought I might have better luck calling my State Senator, whom I found out is Jenny Oropeza. Thinking she's new and she might still have some passion left to actually be a true"civil servant". I was hoping to be delightedly surprised . However, it was, once more, not to be.
Although Jenny's Office Assistant was very nice, he did not fully grasp the information I was giving him. He referred me to HUD for a non-profit loan modification. Nice..... but I was expecting the Assistant to pick up on the fact one of Jenny's constituants was scammed by a local Attorney. I wanted Jenny to follow up with the Attorney General and try to get an investigator to call me. No such luck. I tried calling the Sacramento office phone number for Jenny but that was apparently a fax machine.
Yesterday I called a "consumer" attorney in hopes that he would accept my case and file suit against Parsa under some kind of consumer protection law for California. I left a detailed message (maybe that is why he's not calling back?).
Since writing this blog, I have gotten over 10 emails from fellow Parsa Law Group victims. We all have the same sick feeling "does anyone care" "Is there anyone we can trust" "will anyone help us". I am hoping for answers, but none seem to be coming anytime soon. My faith is fading fast.
